About the Artist

Currently I'm an artist based out of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Having painted watercolors in Florida for ten years, I transitioned to oil painting with an emphasis in portraiture after moving from Florida to North Carolina in 2009. Painting with a realist's eye, the very heart of my work has always been the interpretation of light and luminosity, which still remains my hallmark. In my paintings I have explored not only portraiture, architecture, abstract, and stylized realism, but also the landscape of the south, from the coastal marshland to the North Carolina mountains. The indirect classical mode of painting is truly where my heart resides.

Having taken art courses in college, I didn't return to making art until much later beginning with pen and ink. My studio practice is constant and disciplined, and proof of the dedication to creating something beautiful in this world. Making memories for clients through commissions is vital to my contribution to humanity while walking this earth. From my guest house in Florida to a public working gallery at the beach, to extra rooms in North Carolina turned into working studios, the work has somehow been achieved while also reaching people on a personal level.

Award winning watercolors and oil paintings are in both private and public collections. My experience has yielded solo exhibitions, national juried shows, select group exhibitions, inclusion in a museum invitational show in Naples, FL., at the Naples Museum of Art - the Baker Museum - and commercial commissions such as the esteemed Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival Poster, 2006.
